ART IS - Sculpture Series

ART IS SEEING - The Art of Metamorphosis

We perceive information through our sense of sight, and as we assimilate this new information, we then have the choice to allow the new data to change or alter our beings, or we store it for future use, or we discard it. The singular left eye of the sculpture represents that information we absorb in the right or creative side of our brain. Three hundred pairs of eyeballs from many different types of species are mounted on the large eye that is made of rubber and suspended on a neon green wire frame. The entire eye is then mounted on an abstract purple butterfly representing metamorphosis. Dimensions: 61cm X 55 cm

ART IS HEARING - The Art of Evolving

Sound through the ages represents human development and progress. Beginning with the ear drum, which is constructed out of an antique cook pot and lid, the mallet and drum represent the first types of communication and music known to early man. The harp, a life-size soft sculpture completed with brass and wire, signifies man's development through civilization through to Classical culture. The Tenor Saxophone is structured to scale out of copper wire, and represents modern man and his need of emotional expression throughout change and development. The three icons are mounted on a large, soft sculpted ear.
Dimensions: 115cm wide/120 cm long

ART IS TASTING, TOUCHING, SMELLING  - The Art of the Child

Using recycled materials, Analynn created a large, wild flower, representing the ever-blossoming bloom in spite of changing climates. The word, 'Tasting', is made out of candy selected according to the colors of the rainbow. 'Touching' is made out of dried cereal, representing the harvesting of food, and 'Smelling' is made out of coffee beans, representing food commodities and cultural tastes.  A life size hand sculpted out of wax is attached to a soft sculpture tongue, both further connected to the blossom of the flower. Dimensions: 117cm high X 58 cm wide

ART IS E-MOTION

In this sculpture, art represents emotion and motion, both as expressed from the outside-in and the inside-out. Analynn uses discarded movie film reels and VHS tape to show the movement of the wheel of Life. Within the sculpture one might find a soccer player or a person on a bicycle. The tape within the reel depicts the flow of the life cycle, while the tape with frayed ends that is randomly placed symbolizes the sense of chaos one sometime feels in Life's ebb. The tape records the details of a Life story. Dimension: 3' X 3'
